Working party points System
The working parties and points has been put in place to ensure that all tenants contribute towards running the society. Now that the council are responsible for nothing other than repairing the banks of the stream. Everything else is down to the society. At the start of self managing the society had two options 1 get all work done by contractors or 2 do it ourselves.
option 1 may look attractive but funding this method would require the plots rents to go to a silly level (maybe up to £1000 pounds).
We decided to use option 2 we are lucky enough to have the skills on site to be able to do this.
Note
Points cannot be carried forward to next year, and please don't think that once you have reached 16, you will not get asked to assist in more projects. Some of you, as seen from the chart below, have very few points. There will be an opportunity for you to take part in construction jobs commencing during the year
The rest of the tenants will be invited to help move green waste, trim hedges and help Deb prepare the wildlife areas for winter and any other tasks that require doing, i.e painting, etc.
So it is easy and trackable to keep a check on points earned, please use the button at the bottom of page to enter your points. The notification is automatically sent to the Secretary, the tenants liaison and myself for the record. list of jobs will be added to the working party and projects page.

Please check that you have sent us your points. Unfortunately, failure to enter your hours within 7 days of doing the task means your hours may not be recorded, so please enter hours as soon as you do the task. There are exceptions; projects can be entered after completion, provided this has been authorised by the committee or working party co-ordinator. Please note that anyone with less than 16 in the above white column will have the difference added to 2026 working party point i.e, if you have 10 hours for this year, you will start 2026 with a -6 year start points, so for 2026 you will need to do 22 hours in 2026 to get to zero hours owed to 2027.
